All of our staff are fully qualified and many have been at the nursery for many years. The management is committed to an on-going training programme so that all staff are conversant with current legislation and ideas.

Forest School

Forest school is an opportunity for your child to experience nature and the outdoor environment in a safe, secure and hands on way.

At Lucy Locket we have two staff members who are trained to take Forest School sessions. Our Forest Garden is on the nursery site.

Forest School provides opportunity to bring learning to life, allowing children to explore and learn in a constructive way.

It increases self-confidence, self-esteem, improves their ability to work co-operatively and counters a lack of motivation and negative attitude to learning, while offering the opportunities to take managed risks, make choices and initiate learning themselves.

We have purchased our own outdoor clothing for the children, but we do ask that you provide wellingtons.
